Netherlands: Gov't refuses to calculate immigration costs

The Dutch government has decided against working out the exact costs and benefits of people with a foreign background.

The Minister of Integration Eberhard van der Laan says ministers will only give figures that are already available in the budget, in response to a request by Geert Wilder’s Freedom Party.

For example there are figures available for how much money goes to people with a foreign background in underprivileged areas.

Van der Laan said, “We will not go further than that we do not keep figures on disabled people or Frisians.”

The Freedom Party says it is astonished that Dutch voters are not allowed to know how much mass immigration costs.
